The Academy of Sociology (Akademie für Soziologie e. V.) promotes the empirical-analytical sociology. Its goal is to present comprehensible analyses of social processes based on precise theories and empirical data. Therewith, the academy wants to contribute to a scientificly substantiated and evidence-based social policy.

The academy promotes the information exchange in research and teaching and the transfer of empirical-analytical research results to the public. It also serves the international and interdisciplinary connection in the social sciences. For this purpose, conferences will be organized and young scholars will be supported.

All social scientists who encourage the fundamental goals of the empirical-analytical sociology can become a member. The academy is open to all social science questions, orientations, methods and prioritisations which proceed empirical-analytically.
